Who doesn't love seeing the wildlife in YNP?
That is certainly one of the main draws for us! But while we get enthralled looking at scraggly bison; majestic elk; and if you're extremely lucky -- a grizzly bear; you can't forget about the little creatures that are scurrying around underneath the canopy of the tall lodgepole pines:
Baby Bison are such cuties! Have you ever watched them running around, kicking up their heels?
You have to be quick to catch a photo of a ground squirrel!
Especially if he’s hiding under a rock!
I know this photo is blurry, but the jack rabbit wasn’t going to wait around to pose for a photo!
Look at the size of his feet! I hope they’ll keep him lucky!
After a long, hard winter, this Yellow Bellied Marmot is very happy
to find a warm place on a rock.
This little guy is hoping he won’t become dinner for the coyote that was lurking near-by.
I know! He can make a quick, water escape!
And finally, we can’t forget about the small winged creatures that beautify the skies.
This is a particular favorite and will always remind me of my mom:
The Mountain Bluebird.
They bring a bit of sunshine to the greyest day!
