Even the Littlest Creatures....

Who doesn't love seeing the wildlife in YNP?

That is certainly one of the main draws for us! But while we get enthralled looking at scraggly bison; majestic elk; and if you're extremely lucky -- a grizzly bear; you can't forget about the little creatures that are scurrying around underneath the canopy of the tall lodgepole pines:

Baby Bison are such cuties! Have you ever watched them running around, kicking up their heels?

You have to be quick to catch a photo of a ground squirrel!

I know this photo is blurry, but the jack rabbit wasn’t going to wait around to pose for a photo!
Look at the size of his feet! I hope they’ll keep him lucky!Jack Rabbit

After a long, hard winter, this Yellow Bellied Marmot is very happy
to find a warm place on a rock.Marmot May 2011

This little guy is hoping he won’t become dinner for the coyote that was lurking near-by.
I know! He can make a quick, water escape!Marmot River May 2011

And finally, we can’t forget about the small winged creatures that beautify the skies.
This is a particular favorite and will always remind me of my mom:
The Mountain Bluebird.
They bring a bit of sunshine to the greyest day!

Welcome To Our Blog

Welcome to our new blog!

We'd like to introduce ourselves as Shackie and Valerie (in the interest of security, we do not use our real names)... two people who love and adore our National Park,

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK.

We visit as often as time permits, trying to see an explore as much as humanly possible, which translates into almost every weekend in the spring and fall and frequently during the summer months.

We consider this space as OUR PARK and hope that the other people who visit our playground will respect it and treat it with the respect and reverence it deserves.

We will post photos of our journeys here,
so you can enjoy the view from the comfort of your own home.
